For the cognoscenti – these are formulas full of secret power. For the laymen – it is a mere onomatopoeic humming. For some – messages which allow affect the reality with much precision, for others – linguistic experiments, in which dadaistic nonchalance is combined discreetly with ominous melodeclamation.

Incantation is a term which refers to magical practice, it is a living phenomenon, present in fierce words of profanity, but also in subtle concrete poetry. Its vitality is based on assumption that the relations between our mind and reality may be consumed by both words and images. Using a model we can take power over its prototype. By manipulating the model we are able to transform the reality and design the world.

The cycle introduced at The Poviat Museum in Nysa has been inspired by history of haunting the alleged witches in this area. In a wide sense the works refer to various relics of magic and alchemy, magical perceiving of the world, still present in varied forms of our mental and social life, and at the same time close to painterly practice.
